Does a state tax refund take longer to get back than a federal?

I’m frοm ND аnԁ I finled mу taxes bу E-file. I’ve received mу federal refund οn Gοοԁ Friday, bυt I haven’t gotten mу state back уеt. Hаѕ thіѕ happened tο anyone еƖѕе? I checked mу status οn ουr state tax commissioner website аnԁ іt ѕауѕ іt’s bееn received аnԁ being processed. Dο state refunds usually take longer thаn a federal?

It really depends on the state so it is hard to say, I am from KY and I actually had my state return before I had my Federal. It could be allot of different things holding it up. Just keep checking on the status that is about all you can do.

if you filed them both on the same day then they should come in about the same week….. but theres a chance they just haven’t gotten to yours yet… i got mine back within the same week i do believe…and it kinda depends on if you had them mail ur check or direct deposit, so just wait another week or so im sure youll get it soon.

Anybody that gives the IRS money is crazy. The IRS isn’t even an agency of the United States Government. And as far as State Governments go they don’t need your money either. I know why people are afraid to send in money, due on the 15th of April. Because you are a slave to the Government’s both State and Federal. You could have spent those taxes you paid when they were worth something, now up to one year later that tax refund is worth much less. Guess you haven’t seen the price of gas lately huh?

I have always gotten my state check 2 weeks later than federal.

I filed my taxes electronically on one of the commercial websites in early February. My state tax was direct deposited into my bank account in 3 days; my Federal in 8.

it has been my experience that the State return tends to take 1-2 weeks longer than the Federal

Depends on the state. CA refunds usually arrive earlier than federal.
